2018 Inter-Korean Summit

The Panmunjom Declaration April 27, 2018, North and South Koreas signed the “Panmumjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula” during the Inter-Korean Summit at the Peace House. It is the outcome of the shared attitude and approach reached by the two leaders. It revitalizes all the past inter-Korean agreements and shows both Koreas’ firm commitment to opening up a new chapter together in the history of the Korean peninsula. Such a scenario was nearly unimaginable just a few months ago. It was possible because of the Moon Jae-in government’s determination to promote peace on the Korean peninsula and … Continue reading 2018 Inter-Korean Summit

South Korea’s Blue House Scandal: What Outsiders Need to Know Mi-yeon Hur   Since October 2016, every weekend, Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul has been flooded with hundreds of thousands of people demanding the ouster of current South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

Every State Crying Out “Wolf, Wolf!”

North Korea’s Real Threats and the Resolution for its Nuclear Issues 27 April 2013 Miriam Hur, University of Bradford   As a South Korean research student in the UK, after the North Korean regime conducted its third nuclear test, I have been the primary source for many of my colleagues and local friends to satisfy their curiosity if North Korea would really attack the US. I even read a post written by Jack David (2013), a senior fellow of the Hudson Institute, warning there is a great possibility that the US can be the target of North Korean missile and … Continue reading Every State Crying Out “Wolf, Wolf!”
